Change return date

Rental

A return date is assigned automatically to each return. You can manually assign another date.

Charge costs

Rental

In D365 FO, on the Anywhere app parameters page, a ‘Charge costs for rental orders’ parameter is available for both bulk business objects and serialized business objects. If set to ‘Yes’, you can add and track supplementary items that come with a rental order. To do this, select the "Charge costs" option. 

Confirm damaged/missing barcode

Rental

To confirm the damaged or missing barcode, click "F1: Yes". 

Confirm mass return

Rental

To finish a mass return, go to the main mass return page and click “F5: Confirm”. On the mass return confirmation page, you can view the list of items which are included in the current return. 

For a selected item, you can: 

  • Cancel its return. To do so, click Delete. 
  • View its detailed information. To do so, click Detail. 

To finish the current mass return, click “F4: Confirm”. As a result: 

In D365 FO, the mass return status is set to “Confirmed”. 

The mass return is no longer shown in Anywhere for rental.

Confirm return

Rental

Click "F4:OK" to finish an item return.

To finish a rental or transfer order return, click “F6: Finish”. On the confirmation screen, you can view the customer name and rental order number information. You can also view all returned items listed with their returned quantities in a table.

Confirm serialized item return

Rental

You can view the general information about the scanned serialized item. You can also adjust the return date, report item damage and charge costs. To proceed with the scanned serialized item, click “F4: Ok”.

Count items

Rental

Scan serialized and bulk items to count their quantity in the warehouse. 

The list shows the total on-hand quantity of each item which is available according to D365 FO. 

After you scan an item, it is shown as the "Last counted item". 

How to enter the counting results depends on the item type: 

  • Serialized items: When you have scanned a serialized item, you can add a counting reason code. To do so, select the scanned item, and click "Business object". 

  • Bulk items:  If a barcode is available, you can scan a bulk item several time. Each time you scan the bulk item, the counted quantity is increased with 1. 

If you cannot scan a bulk item, you can manually enter the counted quantity.  

To do so: 

  1. Select the item line. 
  2. Click "Select". 
  3. Fill in the counted quantity. 
  4. Click "F4:OK". 

Scanned item does not exist in the counting journal: 

If you scan an item that does not exist in the current counting journal, the item is added to the counting journal. This is only possible if the item matches the applied filters on the counting journal in D365 FO.

Enter return quantity

Rental

You can enter the returned quantity for the selected item in the “Quantity to return” field. 

Informational fields: 

  • Delivered quantity: Shows the total amount of items available for return. 

  • Current user quantity: Shows the item quantity returned in the current session. You can change this quantity. For example, if the quantity already is returned fully or partially.  

Finish counting

Rental

As you scan, the "Counted" field of the selected counting journal is updated in D365 FO. To finish the current counting journal, on the Rental counting main page, click "F1:Back". As a result, the warehouse and counting journal selection page is shown. 

When you finish a counting journal in Anywhere for Rental, the counting journal is updated in D365 FO. 

You can start item counting for another counting journal. 

Finish item return

Rental

To finish the current item return, click "F4:Ok". As a result, the previous page with the order line view on the item level shows the new value in the “Quantity already returned” column. 

To proceed with the mass return, click "F1:Back". 

As a result, the latest page from which you started an item return, is shown. For example, the latest page from which you started an item return is "Show related orders". If you click “F1:Back” when the item return is finished, the “Show related orders” page is shown. 

Finish picking

Rental

When you are done picking for a picking route, finish the picking route. You can also finish a picking route if you have partially picked it.

Finish rental return

Rental

To finish a rental or transfer order return, on the Rented equipment page, click “F6: Finish”. On the confirmation page, you can view the customer name and rental order number information. You can also view all returned items listed with their returned quantities in a table. To finalize your rental return, click "F4:Confirm". The rental return is marked as "Returned " in D365 FO. You can start a new rental return. 

Get work

Rental

You can use Get work to start the next available picking route for the chosen warehouse.  

Pick item

Rental

You can pick an item if it is technically available. When picked, the page where unpicked order lines are shown, is updated. You can always pick a bulk item partially.  

Register meters

Rental

You can enter the meter reading transactions for transfer orders. 

  • For transfer orders, in Anywhere for Rental, in D365 FO, on the Anywhere app parameters page, on the Rental tab, set the “Register meters for transfer orders” parameters to ‘Yes’. 
  • For rental orders, if an item has a meter reading connected, you can register meters by default.

Report damage

Rental

You can report a damaged serialized item. To do so, click “Report damage”. You can enter the damage description and provide a picture of the damaged item. If, in D365 FO, document handling is enabled, the damage description and a picture are added to the item as separate attachments. 

Reset

Rental

You can cancel the return of: 

  • One order line. To do so, select the order line, and click “F3: Reset”. 

  • All order lines. To do so, click “F7: Reset All”. 

Return bulk rental order lines from related order lines

Rental

To return related order lines for a serialized item, on the mass return main page, click “F8: Receive bulk items”, “Show related orders”. You can only return related order lines when you have already scanned a serialized item with related order lines. All rental order lines which are related to the scanned serialized item are shown. Select the desired related order line and click “F4:Ok”. 

Return item

Rental

To return:

  • One item with a barcode, scan the item and click "F4:Ok".
  • One item from the Rented equipment section, select the desired entry and click “F2: Return”.
  • All items, click “F5: Return All”.

On the new page, you can view and add item information.

Scan a picking route

You can scan or enter the picking route number to start picking. 

Scan bulk item

Rental

If the bulk item to be returned has a barcode, you can scan it. To do so, scan the item barcode and click “F4: Ok”. 

Scan item

Rental

Scan the barcode of the desired item to pick it.  

 In D365 FO, in the Anywhere app parameters, on the Rental tab, in the picking section, you can set the Change serial number on picking” parameter. If set to Yes, a warehouse worker can: 

  • Assign a serial number to an object if it does not have a serial number.   

  • Change a serial number. If the item with the specified serial number cannot be picked, the warehouse worker can replace it with an item with a different serial number.  

Serialized items   

When you have scanned a serialized item, you can:   

  • Report if it is damaged.   

  • Add a description.   

  • Take a picture of the item.   

This creates a note for an item. 

The picking quantity for serialized items is always ‘1’.    

Bulk items   

When you have scanned a bulk item, you can:   

  • Take a picture of the item.   

  •  Add a note.   

You must enter the number of items you want to pick from the available quantity.    

Scan item to return

Scan the barcode of the desired item to proceed with the return. 

Scan order number

Rental

You can return a rental return in these ways: 

  • Scan the order. 
  • Scan a returned serialized item. If you do so, automatically, the related order is found. 

Search item

Rental

Use the filters to find an order without an order number or a barcode. You can combine filters to narrow down your search. 

 For example, a rental order is returned, and you know the customer, you can apply the Customer filter. All rental order lines for the selected customer are shown if you click “F9: List”. 

You can make your search results more specific with the “Find item” or “Select work location” filters. For example, use the “Select customer” and “Find item” filters to view rental order lines for a specific customer and item. To view the search results, click “F9: List”.

To return a rental order line without an order number or a barcode, on the mass return main page, click “F8: Receive bulk items”, “Show all orders”. Use the filters to find the desired rental order line. You can combine filters to narrow down your search and find the rental order line quicker. 

To select a specific: 

  • Customer, click “F6: List”. You can search for a customer by: 

    • Customer name 
    • Account number 
    • Search name. 
  • Item to return, click “F7”: Scan item”. You can: 

    • Scan the desired bulk item with a barcode. 
    • Search for the item. To do so, click “F6: List”. 

Select the desired order line and click “F4:Ok”. 

Select bulk item

Rental

If the bulk item to be returned has no barcode, you can select it. To do so, select the applicable rental order line and click “Select”.

If you have selected a related order line to return, the page shows all related order lines for the rental order. 

Select counting journal

Rental

Select the desired counting journal to start rental item counting.

In the rental item counting process, whether on-hand inventory is shown, depends on these Anywhere app parameters for Rental:

  • Show on-hand inventory for serial items
  • Show on-hand inventory for bulk items

The list with on-hand quantity of rental items is not visible if you disable both parameters.

Select item from the list

Rental

Instead of scanning a barcode, you can select an item from a list. In the list, you can find an item based on its name, barcode, or description. 

Select order type

Rental

You can do a rental return for these order types: 

  • Rental order: Select a customer and view all related rental orders. 

  • Transfer order: You can select a warehouse and view all transfer orders from this warehouse. 

Select picking route from the list

Rental

You can find and select the desired picking route. To do so, click "F6:List". All picking routes, that are released to the warehouse, are shown. This includes past, current, and future picking routes.

Select the warehouse

Rental

Make sure the applicable warehouse is selected. As a result, you can only start picking routes for the selected warehouse. Click “F9: List”, to view the picking routes for the selected warehouse.

Unpick

Rental

If you have not yet confirmed and finished picking, you can still unpick items from the picking list. To do so, click "F2: Unpick". You can specify the item quantity to unpick. This adds the unpicked item back to the list of order lines on the main picking page. 

View item information

Rental

For the selected business object, you can: 

  • View its detailed information. 

  • View its meters if meter values are registered. 

  • Reset its technical availability. To do so, click Reset, select the applicable reason code, and click "F4: OK".

View line information

Rental

You can view the full line information and scan the selected item if its barcode is available. 

To view the line information, click "F2"Select line." 

View maintenance plans

Rental

For the selected business object, you can view the maintenance plans that are currently available.

View more detailed item information

Rental

For each serialized rental item, you can find the general information. You can view which serial numbers exist with the related business objects.

View picking route information

Rental

Before you start picking, view the selected picking route details. The details show the number of picking route lines and the total item quantity to be picked.  

View real-time availability of the item

Rental

For the selected rental item, you can view the available rental quantity on a particular day.

View the picking route

Rental

You can access the full picking route. All items are shown that belong to the picking route. You can select and unpick items from this list. 

To view the picking route, click "F3: Show all". 

View work order lines

Rental

For the selected business object, you can view the work order lines.
