You can translate RapidValue elements that can be a part of your solution. You can translate the elements inside or outside D365 FO. To translate the elements outside D365 FO, for example by a translation agency, you can create an export file.

The D365 FO system language is the original language of your solution and its elements.

Prerequisites:

  • You can only use the translations functionality in RapidValue if the Translations configuration key is enabled.
  • If you want to automatically translate RapidValue content, you must activate auto-translation on the RapidValue parameters.

Translator Translator Add translation Add translation You can translate all RapidValue elements that can be a part of your solution. For each element record, you can create a translation. To help the translator, the not-yet-translated text is shown in the current language. Procedure 1. Click Business process modeling. 2. Click Activities. 3. In the list, find and select the record to be translated. 4. Click Translations to open the drop dialog. 5. On the drop dialog, in the list, select the desired language. 6. Click OK. 7. On the Translation tab, in the list, find and select the field which text must be translated. Note: Of the selected record, only the fields are shown that have text defined. 8. In the Translated text field, enter the translation of the original text. Note: If the text type is HTML, you can also enter the translation in the Translated text editor at the lower-right of the page. 9. Close the page. Notes You can only publish a solution in another language if this language is defined for the solution itself. Enter translation Enter translation If the translation is done inside D365 FO usually, the RapidValue element texts are translated from the Business process translation workspace. The translator can replace the not-yet-translated text with the translation. Procedure 1. Click Business process translation. 2. Click the My translations tab. 3. In the list, find and select the desired record. 4. Click Edit. 5. Click the Translation tab. 6. In the Translated text field, type a value. 7. Click Save. 8. Close the page. Notes You can also enter a translation separately for each record. To do so: Select the record. On the Action Pane, click Manage. Click Translations to open the drop dialog. In the list, mark the selected row. Click OK. Export translations Export translations You can export records to be translated outside D365 FO . For example, you can outsource the translation to a translation agency. As a result of the export, a Microsoft Excel file is created to which the to-be-translated records are added. This file is added to the Translation files tab on the Business process file share workspace. Procedure 1. Click Business process translation. 2. Click the My translations tab. 3. In the list, find and select the records to be exported. 4. Click Actions. 5. Click Export. 6. In the Download translations dialog, click OK. Start Start Translate export file Translate export file To get the RapidValue elements texts translated, you can take the Microsoft Excel file with to-be-translated records and hand it over to the translator. In this file, in the Translated text column, the translator must replace the original texts with the translations. Procedure 1. Click Business process file share. 2. Click the Translation files tab. 3. In the list, find and select the desired record. 4. Click Download. Note: You can send the downloaded translations file to the translator. Import translations Import translations If the texts in the Microsoft Excel translation file are translated, you can import the translations into RapidValue. Important You can only import a translation file into the solution where the translation is exported from. Before you import a translation file, make sure the field tags are in the original structure in which these were exported. Procedure 1. Click Business process translation. 2. In the list, find and select the desired record. 3. Click Actions. 4. Click Upload. 5. You can browse for a translation file. The selected file is uploaded to the translation files on the Business process file share workspace. And added to the list on this dialog. 6. In the list, find and select the desired record. 7. Click OK. Notes You can only select the file from the list if the proper file is already uploaded on the Business process file share workspace. Mark translation to be redone Mark translation to be redone If you change text (for example, the name or description) for any record that is already translated, you can mark the translation to be redone. As a result: The translation gets the Redo status. On the Business process translations workspace, the record is shown on the To be redone tab. Procedure 1. Click Business process modeling. 2. Click Activities. 3. In the list, find and select the desired record. 4. On the Action Pane, click Manage. 5. Click Redo. 6. Click OK. 7. Close the page. Mark translation to be redone

If you change text (for example, the name or description) for any record that is already translated, you can mark the translation to be redone. As a result:

  • The translation gets the Redo status.
  • On the Business process translations workspace, the record is shown on the To be redone tab.
