On installation, RapidValue adds a set of business-solution-modeling-specific security roles to the set of roles as provided in D365 FO. You can assign the users, who play a role in RapidValue content development, to these RapidValue security roles.

You can use these RapidValue security roles in your RapidValue content development team: 
  • User
    • Has view access to the entire RapidValue solution.
    • Other roles include the User privileges and add maintain access as needed.
  • Application designer 
    • Creates and maintains application models.
    • Maps application data and functionality to reference objects.
    • Maps application features to business capabilities, processes, and best practices.
  • Business analyst
    • Creates and maintains business models.
    • Reviews a customer’s business processes to gain a complete understanding of current procedures.
    • Documents business processes.
    • Identifies any improvements.
  • Solution designer
    • Creates and maintains process models.
    • Responsible for process and activity reference information.
    • Maps activities to applications.
  • Consultant
    • Views and presents models.
    • Maintains implementation information such as capability estimates and map.
    • Performs gap/fit analysis.
    • Creates and manages requirements.
  • Developer
    • Develops or customizes any code or technical configuration of applications.
    • Installs applications.
    • Configures infrastructure.
  • Reviewer
    • Can view and add review markup (notes) to models and reference data, primarily intended for internal use while developing or maintaining models.
  • Test manager
    • Creates and maintains process-driven or manually created test specifications for a solution.
    • Maintains test cases and test suites.
    • Assigns tests to people.
    • Tracks overall testing progress.
  • Tester
    • Runs tests defined and assigned by the test manager.
    • Enters test results.
    • Reports defects.
    • Cannot modify test specifications.
  • Translator
    • Creates and maintains translations of RapidValue content into additional languages.
    • Can edit translations directly in RapidValue or export/import RapidValue content to be translated externally.
  • Architect
    • Responsible for the overall quality and consistency of business models.
    • Maintains reference definitions on which all models are based.
    • Has full access to all parts of RapidValue through the combined privileges of all other RapidValue roles.
  • Training developer
    • Create modules, topics, and lessons based on RapidValue business processes.
    • Create business process exercises based on flows and activities.
    • Assign business process exercises to modules, topics, and lessons.
  • Training coordinator
    • Set up trainees based on users or persons.
    • Assign modules to trainees.
    • Monitor learning progress of trainees on module or trainee level. 
  • Trainee
    • Do the assigned training in the My training workspace.
    • Provide feedback to process owners.
    • Do a self-assessment.
