Import configuration from data file

You can import a data file in any D365 FO environment with RapidValue installed.

You can create a data file from a content package. A data file is an XML file of type RVDATA that contains all configuration data of the content package.

Sub-task: Upload data file. 4. In the Source of XML data field, enter 'File on file share'. Note: Click Browse and browse for the data file to be imported. On selection, the file is automatically uploaded as type Data file to the Business process file share workspace. 5. In the list, select the uploaded data (AXTR) file. Note: You can also select another data (AXTR) file from the list. These data files are uploaded or created in the current environment. 6. Click Next. 7. Sub-task: Select data import mode and analyze data file. 8. In the Options field, enter 'Selective - Analyze data and specify which existing data to keep/overwrite (safer)'. 9. Click Next. Note: As a result, the data file is analyzed and its configuration is compared with the related configuration in the current environment, if any. 10. Sub-task: Confirm import of existing records. 11. In the list, mark the records with action Overwrite, that you want to keep. 12. Click Keep. 13. In the list, mark the records with action Keep, that you want to overwrite. 14. Click Overwrite. 15.
