You can create a solution for:

  • A typical target company for your software solution. You can use such a solution to model and describe your software solution.
  • Implementation purposes, where the solution reflects the processes of the company it is created for.

You can create a blank solution or create a solution based on an existing solution. If you create a solution based on an existing one, you can make a full copy of the existing solution or only use specific elements of the existing solution.

In the Reuse or copy elements used in the base solution field, select an option. 6. In the Scope field, select an option. 7. In the Requirements field, select an option. 8. Select Yes in the Tasks field. 9. Select Yes in the Test specifications field. 10. Select Yes in the Test runs field. 11. You can indicate if the scoping data of the base solution is copied to the new solution. This includes the scope indication and the milestones. Select Yes in the Scope field. Note: If the scoping data is not copied, in the new solution, the business processes get the scope indication Not specified. 12. You can indicate if the verification data of the base solution is copied to the new solution. This includes the gap indication and the gap categories. Select Yes in the Verification field. Note: If the verification data is not copied, in the new solution, the business processes get the gap indication Not specified. 13. You can indicate if the status of the elements of the base solution is copied to the new solution. Select Yes in the Status field. Note: If the status is not copied, in the new solution, the elements get the lowest status. This can be the status Open or Created. 14. You can indicate if the owner of the elements of the base solution is copied to the new solution. Select Yes in the Owner field. Note: If the owner is not copied, in the new solution, the elements do not have an owner. 15. Click Next. 16. Click Next. 17. Click Finish. Set up solution references Set up solution references For each solution, you can define the solution references. You define a reference to another solution if you want to use elements of that solution in the current solution. Besides the elements of the current solution, you can only re-use elements of its referenced solutions.In the dialogs, where you can select and assign existing elements, only the relevant elements of the current solution and its referenced solutions are shown.
