Customize resources
RapidValue task

The resources define the layout of the website. So, these resources serve as a template for the look-and-feel of a website.

You can apply resources in these ways:
  • Standard
    The standard resources are embedded in the RapidValue code base as binary file. If you publish, and no custom resources are defined for the website, the standard resources are applied. The embedded resources are extracted and added to the defined path or ZIP file in a Resources folder on the website level. So, all published solutions of a website get the same layout.
  • Customized
    Only define resources for a website if you need a custom layout. If a customized layout is required, you must define the customizations based on the standard resources. So, download the standard resources, make the required modifications, and upload the customized resources. So, for example, you cannot just copy the CSS file from your own website to the resources. Instead, modify the CSS in the standard resources. If you publish the website, the customized resources are extracted and added to the defined path or ZIP file in a Resources folder on the website level. So, all published solutions of a website get the same layout.
This topic describes how to customize the standard resources and apply the customized resources to a website.


Standard procedure

1. Click Business process file share.
2. Click Websites.
3. In the list, find and select the desired website.
4. In the list, click the link in the selected row.
5. Click Edit.
6. Expand the Resources section.
7. Before you can download the standard resources, these resources must be extracted, added to a ZIP file, and the ZIP file must be added to the Resources field.
  To do so, click the Reset button.
8. To modify the standard resources, you must first download these resources.
  Click the Download button.
9. Make the required modifications to the downloaded resources.
 

Note: You can, for example:
- Change the CSS.
- Add custom tile images to the 'images' folder in the Resources.
10. To apply the modified resources to the website, you must upload these resources. Click Upload, browse for the modified resources ZIP file, and click Open.
11. If required, you can delete the modified resources from the website.
  Click Clear.
