You can add procedure activity steps to another activity. A common scenario is that you add procedure activity steps to the sub activity that is linked to these steps.

If the other activity:
  • Does not have steps yet, the selected procedure activity steps are the activity steps.
  • Has steps, the selected procedure activity steps are added below the existing steps.
You can not add procedure activity steps to an activity with:
  • Status Completed.
  • A task recording.

Standard procedure

1. Click Business process modeling.
2. Click the Business processes tab.
3. Click Edit hierarchy.
4. In the tree, select 'a node with a procedure activity assigned, which steps are already recorded'.
5. Click the Procedure tab.
6. Click Link sub activities.
7. On the left pane, in the list, find and select the steps that you want to add to the steps of another activity.

Note: It can be useful if already a sub activity is linked to the selected steps of the procedure activity.

8. On the Activities pane, in the list, find and select the activity to which you want to add the selected steps.

Note: For example, select the activity that is linked as sub activity to the selected steps.

9. Click Activity steps.
10. Click Add.

Note: As a result, the steps are added in this way:
- The procedure activity name is added as sub task.
- The selected steps are added as sub steps to this sub task.

11. Click Close.

Notes

An activity can be linked as sub activity to steps of a procedure activity. If so, on the Manage sub activities dialog, in the lower part of the preview, the activities and steps are shown to which the activity is linked as sub activity.
