Product status setup

To be able to work with engineering-controlled products, you must set up the possible statuses for these products. You can freely define the statuses that are required for your engineering-controlled products.

For each product status, you can define for which types of orders the product is blocked if it has that status. You can also choose that only a warning is given.

Assigned product status

If you create a product, the initial status is the Created status as defined for the applicable engineering product type.

 

Status versus Active

If, in a specific company, a product is:

• Inactive, no transactions are allowed for the product, regardless of the product status.
• Active, the products status defines which transactions are allowed for the product.

Note

If a version became inactive after it is added to a purchase line, and the purchase order is still Open, you can still change and edit the purchase line.
