Setup rental type

A rental type is a group of rental items that have similar characteristics when rent out to  customers.

The process defines the creation of the rental types.


Fleet Manager Fleet Manager Start Start Assign product and rental posting policy Assign product and rental posting policy To each rental type, assign the related:·         Product·         Rental posting policy. The rental posting policy defines the rules that are applied when you create a work order for the rental type. Procedure 1. Go to Business objects > Setup > Rental types. 2. Click New. 3. In the Rental type field, enter or select a value. 4. In the Rental posting policy field, enter or select a value. 5. Click Save. 6. Close the page. Assign object group Assign object group You can assign an object group to a rental type. An object group consists of business objects with similar characteristics. For example, ‘Heavy equipment’ is an object group which consists of all the business objects with the same heavy equipment characteristics. Objects in this object group can be, for example, cranes and heavy loaded trucks. Procedure 1. Go to Business objects > Setup > Rental types. 2. In the list, find and select the desired record. 3. Click Edit. 4. In the Object group field, enter or select a value. 5. Click Save. 6. Close the page. Assign object sub group Assign object sub group You can assign an object sub group to a rental type. An object sub group further classifies business objects of the same object group.For example, ‘Heavy trucks’ can be an object sub group of the ’Heavy equipment’ object group. This object sub group can consist of all types of heavy trucks. Procedure 1. Go to Business objects > Setup > Rental types. 2. In the list, find and select the desired record. 3. Click Edit. 4. A rental calendar defines the days and times for which you can invoice a rental line. Procedure 1. Go to Business objects > Setup > Rental types. 2. In the list, find and select the desired record. 3. Click Edit. 4. In the Rental calendar field, enter or select a value. 5. Click Save. 6. Close the page.
