Manage project versions - Advanced

Project version management offers several advanced options. For example, to solve issues related to project versions.

So, if a project is not available in the current environment, you can select it from the list and make it available.Besides this, you can also use 'Get latest' in these cases:If in an environment, the current project version is not the latest project version, you can get the latest project version. As a result, the current project version is replaced with the latest project version.If you have checked out a project and made changes in the current environment, you can undo these changes by doing Get latest. In this case, also the check out of the project is undone. Procedure 1. Go to Connectivity studio > Periodic > Version management > Project version management. Note: Opening this page can take a while. 2. In the list, find and select the desired project. 3. Click Get latest. 4. Click Yes. 5. Close the page. Restore project version Restore project version In an environment, you can restore another project version. As a result, the current project version is replaced with the selected project version.You can restore a project version for these reasons:To temporarily use it, for example, for reviewing or testing purposes or if the latest version has issues. In this case, do not check out the project when you restore it.To make it the basis for further design. In this case, check out the project when you restore it. When you check in the project, the restored version becomes the latest version. Procedure 1. Go to Connectivity studio > Periodic > Version management > Project version management. Note: Opening this page can take a while. 2. In the list, find and select the desired project. 3. Click Restore version. 4. On the dialog, in the list, find and select the version to be restored. 5. Click OK. 6. If you restore the project version to: - Temporarily use it, do not check out the project. - Make it the basis for further design, check out the project. In this procedure, we check out the project. Click Yes. Note: If you accidentally checked out the project or you do not want to use it as the latest version, do 'Get latest' to undo the check-out and turn back to the latest project version. 7. Click Yes. 8. Close the page. Take over project checkout Take over project checkout If a project is checked out in another environment, you can take over the checkout in the current environment. Only do so if, for some reason, the project cannot be checked in in the other environment.As a result, the project:Is blocked for changes in the other environment.Changes that are made in the other environment are undone.Is checked out in the current environment.Gets a provisional version number in the current environment that is two higher than the latest version. Example: The latest version of a project is '4'. When checked out in the other environment, it gets the provisional version number '5' in the other environment. If you take over the project in the current environment, it gets the provisional version number '6' in the current environment. Procedure 1. Click Steal check out. 4. Click Yes. 5. Close the page. You can repair the status in the file storage, based on the project version management table. Procedure 1. Go to Connectivity studio > Periodic > Version management > Project version management. As a result, the project:
