Set up the users for the mobile apps that are built with Mobility studio.

For each user, define:
  • The main menu that is shown if the user logs on to the mobile device. Note: if no menu is available yet, you must define the user menu later on.
  • The login settings to log in to the mobile app on a mobile device.
  • The app run time mode. Does the app run from cache or on the configuration?
  • For each applicable company, the roles of the user in the company.
The roles define which processes are applicable to the user. If the user menu has processes that are not applicable to the user, these are not shown to the user on the mobile device.


Standard procedure

1. Click Mobility management.
2. Click the Users tab.
3. Click Add.
4. Sub-task: Define general settings.
  4.1 In the User ID field, enter or select a value.
 

Note: Only use users for which a worker is defined.

  4.2 In the Password field, type a value.
  4.3 In the Warehouse field, enter or select a value.
  4.4 In the Warehouse field, enter or select a value.
  4.5 In the Company accounts ID field, enter or select a value.
 

Note: The default company account is the one as defined for the user.

  4.6 Define the main menu that is shown to the user after login to a mobile app.
  In the Menu field, enter or select a value.
  4.7 In the Language field, enter or select a value.
 

Note: The default language is the one as defined for the user.

  4.8 By default, the user is enabled to use mobile apps. You can (temporarily) block a user.
  Select No in the Enabled field.
  4.9 You can define if the transactions of the user are logged.
Transactions are logged according to the settings on the Development tab of the Anywhere mobility studio parameters.
  Select Yes in the Transaction logging field.
  4.10 If you want to send login information to a user, an email address is required.
  In the Email address field, type a value.
5. Sub-task: Define login settings.
  5.1 For security reasons, by default, the user must reset the password at the first login to a mobile app.
You can decide that this is not required.
  Select No in the Reset password at first login field.
  5.2 You can send the password to the user by email.
  Click Send password via email.
  5.3 By default, the password does not expire.
For security reasons, you can decide to let a password expire after a number of days that you can define.
  Select Yes in the Password expires field.
  5.4 Define the number of days the password is valid after it is changed.
  In the Password valid days field, enter a number.
 

Note: As a result, the password expiration date is calculated and shown in the Expiration date field.

  5.5 Define the number of days after the password change to notify the user to change it again.
  In the Notify after days field, enter a number.
  5.6 based on parameter settings, the user account can be locked automatically if the maximum number of login attempts is exceeded.
You can manually lock or unlock a user account.
  Select Yes in the Locked field.
6. Sub-task: Define app run time mode.
  6.1 For each user account, you can define the app run time mode:
- Configuration: The app runs on the real-time configuration in Anywhere mobility studio. This can be slow in a Tier 2 environment.
- Cache: The app runs from a cached configuration. This is faster in a Tier 2 environment, but the app can be outdated.
- Get from parameter: The run time mode for the user account is defined by the Run time mode field of the Anywhere mobility studio parameters. If you use this run time mode, make sure the right run time mode is defined in the parameters.
  In the Run time mode field, select an option.
7. Sub-task: Define user roles per company.
  7.1 Click the Companies tab.
  7.2 Define the companies in which the user has roles.
  Click Add.
  7.3 In the Company accounts ID field, enter or select a value.
  7.4 Define the roles that the user has in the selected company.
  On the Roles tab, click Add.
  7.5 In the Role field, enter or select a value.
  7.6 You can view the available processes for the selected role in the selected company.
  Click the Available processes tab.
8. Close the page.
