As a store worker, it can be needed that you register inventory changes in your store to specific cost accounts. For example, in case of damaged items, stolen items, or write-off of showroom items. You can use the Inventory movement process of the Anywhere for retail app to register these changes to your store inventory.
Set the parameters that apply to the Inventory movement process of the Anywhere for retail app.

Standard procedure

1. Click Mobility management.
2. Click Anywhere app parameters.
3. Click the Retail tab.
4. Expand the Inventory movement section.
5. You can allow to use the unit from the scanned GTIN on entering inventory movement lines. After scanning, the inventory unit is converted to the GTIN unit in the ‘Inventory movement’ process. Example: A box with 3 pieces must be deducted from inventory. The item is registered in inventory per piece, and not per box. On entering the inventory movement line, you can scan a box. As a result, 3 pieces are deducted from the store inventory.
Select Yes in the Use GTIN unit field.
6. For performance reasons, you can limit the number of items shown when you search for an item to be added to an inventory movement. If the desired item is not shown, enter more specific search criteria.
In the Maximum number of items in search field, enter a number.
7. You can have the physical available inventory, according to the inventory data in D365 FO, shown in the Inventory movement process. The physical available inventory is shown on the form where you enter the quantity.
Select Yes in the Show on-hand inventory field.
8. Usually, inventory movements deduct item quantities from inventory. You can allow to also add item quantities to inventory. As a result, on entering a quantity, a button is shown to indicate if it is a positive or negative quantity.
Select Yes in the Allow positive quantity field.
9. You can have the inventory movement journal posted when you finish the ‘Inventory movement’ process.
Select Yes in the Post inventory movement journal field.
10. Sub-task: Add allowed journal names.
10.1 Define which journal names can be used to register inventory movements. You can, for example, have different journal names to register damaged items, stolen items, or write-off of showroom items.
As a result, on creation of a journal, you can select the desired journal name from the allowed journal names.
  Click Add.

Note: Define at least one journal name.

10.2 In the Name field, enter or select a value.
11. Close the page.
