Create serialized business objects

Create a unique businessobject for each piece of equipment with a serial number attached to it. Forexample: a photocopier machine or an aerial working platform

Create bulk business objects

Bulkbusiness objects are notserialized and are generally procured in bulk quantities stored in yourinventory as well as on fixed asset level. For example, scaffolding pipes orcomputer cables.

Set up default maintenance plan

Use maintenance plans to manage the service and maintenance of business object. With a maintenance plan, you can ensure that business objects are maintained in time. Timely maintenance increases the uptime and financial and physical utilization rates of your equipment.

You can use these types of maintenance plans:

• Time based: You do maintenance on business objects based on a schedule. Maintenance is triggered at scheduled moments in time. For example, maintenance of an air conditioner is done every year before summer or a service on an aerial working platform is done every six months.
• Consumption based: You do maintenance on business objects based on usage. Maintenance is triggered when equipment is used or has run for a defined amount in a defined unit. For example, a pump must be lubricated every 10,000 run hours or a car must be serviced every 15,000 KM.
• Recall: You do maintenance on business objects based on a recall. Maintenance is triggered when you recall all business objects of a rental type for maintenance. You can use this if a critical issue occurs that must be fixed in all business objects of a certain type.

You can link a maintenance plan to business objects or products. If you link a maintenance plan to a product, it is automatically linked to all business objects that are created with the product.
For each maintenance plan, define the work order template. This defines the type of work order and tasks to be created.

Use the Business object availability page, to get an overview of all business objects in your rental fleet and the availability. You can do so based on several attributes. For example: rental type, depot, and object group.

You can check the availability on a grid view or a graphical view.

·         Rental quotations

The grid view has a status icon which color indicates the availability of a business object:

  • Green: the business object is not rented, and it is marked as available.
  • Yellow: the business object is not rented, and it is marked as unavailable.
  • Orange: the business object is reserved on a rental order.
  •  Red: the business object is rented.
