You can do maintenance on business objects based on usage. Maintenance is triggered when equipment is used or has run for a defined amount in a defined unit. For example, a pump must be lubricated every 10,000 run hours or a car must be serviced every 15,000 KM.

Standard procedure

1.	Go to Business objects > Setup > Service and maintenance > Default maintenance plans.
2.	Click New.
3.	In the Maintenance plan code field, type a value.
4.	In the Maintenance plan type field, select 'Consumption based'.
5.	In the Description field, type a value.
6.	In the Template ID field, enter or select a value.
7.	In the Main task field, enter or select a value.
8.	Expand the Consumption based section.
9.	In the Recurrence field, enter a number.
10.	In the Reset field, select an option.
11.	In the Unit field, enter or select a value.
12.	Click Save.
13.	Close the page.
14.	Go to Default dashboard.
