To exchange a configuration, you can export a project. All elements that are related to the project are exported. Transactions and history are not exported. For example, the related messages and web service actions are exported, but the message history and web service history are not exported.

As a result of the export, an XML file is created with the project configuration. You can use this XML file to import the configuration, for example, in another environment.

This topic explains how to import a project configuration from a file.

Standard procedure

1. Click Connectivity studio Integration Design.
2. In the Related links section, click Import project from file.
3. Click Select configuration, browse for, and select the desired configuration XML file.
4. You can run the import of a project in the background. Usually, you do so if you import a project with many elements.
While the project is imported, you can continue with other activities in the environment.
Select the Run in background check box.
5. Click OK.

Note: During import, in the imported configuration, a number sequence can be found that does not exist in the environment. In this case, you get a message which number sequence does not exist. You can continue the import or cancel the import to first create the number sequence..

Notes

  • You can also import a project on the Projects page. On the Action Pane, on the Deploy tab, click Import project from file.
  • If you run the import of a project in the background, you can monitor the status of the import transaction. The import transaction is only shown during the import. To monitor the import status, on the Connectivity studio Integration Design workspace, click Projects. On the Project page, on the Action Pane, click Deploy, and click Status of the transaction.
